This is a morning Sunrise from the hospital window.
Many of you know that my husband’s upper aorta tore in a life-threatening emergency last year.
Thursday, June 1st, he was having some grinding back pain, dizziness, and his left arm tingling.
They kept him in the emergency room overnight, awaiting a surgery team to treat the repair area that had become ulcerated and also some other areas of concern in the aorta.
He has a couple of aneurysms, and I’ve been told his aorta peeled like a banana last year.
On June 2, he underwent a bypass to do the temporary repairs. However, he developed a large hematoma, requiring them to have to open the site again. They then discovered that the artery was leaking, so they had to restitch it.
Although he appeared to be doing okay for a day or two, his kidneys have been damaged in this process, and we’re not filtering toxins and fluids properly.
We had a very scary experience Wednesday evening when he thought he was dying.
He has been on life support since then, but it’s intended to be temporary until his body can rest and his lungs can work properly.
Once he heals, he still needs to undergo an entire aorta repair or replacement, which is very risky.
I have stayed most nights over with him at the hospital, but I’m starting to sleep at home a little bit so my body can properly rest and navigate these difficult circumstances.
I miss painting and worry free days, which I know will eventually return.
I’m happy to announce that I have been accepted into the South Cobb Arts Alliance exhibition at The Avenues in West Cobb, Marietta, Georgia, in July.
I will post more details soon and hope to see you there.
I want to thank all of you very much for your continued support and prayers coming in from all over the world.
Love,
Tina
