Seeing the Light in the Dark Moments

Here is your Monday Motivation

We have all experienced dark moments in our life. Some more than others. It’s during these dark times that it’s important to focus on seeing the light int the dark moments. Through my years of experience, I’m a firm believer our thoughts and actions attract energy.

Seeing the Light in the Dark Moments
Corita Kent Quote

Many who know me and those who don’t would probably be shocked at some of the dark times I have been through. Although at the time, it felt like I was the only one having tough times, I know I’m not alone.

Life just throws us a curve ball sometimes. Some days are wonderful and cheery, those days we are on top of the world. Others, can be deep, dark and hurtful. As I’ve grown older and wiser, I understand the importance to focus on those good moments and stay focused on the positive. When there are what I call “Bad Days”, I have to remind myself that this too shall pass and it’s just a bump in the road.

As my husband always reminds me, it’s the ebb and flow. You have to have the dark to know the light. This knowledge was part of the inspiration of creating my Yin Yang products.

Sure I could have given up, had nothing, sulk in a corner, blame everything on the bad experiences, and be miserable, but that is not me. I like being happy and I’m not a quitter.

As a matter of fact, a friend just helped me realize what I’m trying to convey with my art. I’ve always said, I want it to bring peace and happiness to people. She nailed it when she stated that my art brings healing to others. Let’s face it, with growing pressures everywhere, from work, school, traffic, family life and more, life gets hectic. You know there are more and more studies that nature is healing. When you look at my art I want to take you away from that.  I want you to look at my art and instantly transport to the ocean, beach, (such as my Sailing into Paradise painting) or feel the love and relaxation shared with animals. Take a look, feel it. Times you can’t do that, just breathe in and picture it. Either turn on some great music, or turn off all the noise.

So next time you have that day, just remember, we all have them and it will pass. Go easy on yourself and stay focused on the positive. Sometimes things don’t happen over night. It may take a few days, weeks, months or years, but like one of my favorite inspirational songs from my younger years says, fight the good fight. As a matter of fact, you can listen to it here if you need some encouragement.
