Memorial Paintings
Honor your loved ones through a special memorial painting created just for you.
I’m happy to announce that I am now offering memorial paintings for loved ones who have passed us. This idea was given to me by a recent client that remembers me from when I worked on the cruise ship after first moving to Florida. Near the end of the painting, she asked me to do something I’ve never done before. She asked me if I would consider adding some of her late grandson’s ashes to the painting.
After careful thought and consideration, I happily accepted and it was quite an experience.

The Process
Only a small amount of ashes were added to this painting. Please note that this particular painting worked perfectly due to the subject matter and texture. Due to the grainy nature of the ashes, this process won’t work on a smooth painting. Once the ashes are added directly to the paint mixture, the medium blended with the oils and ashes binds together as the painting dries.
Before I started, I made sure to clear all energy in the room and the ashes. This is a technique I learned years ago after I was attuned with Reiki which is an ancient Japanese technique of channeling healing energy through the hands.
What I didn’t expect was the overwhelming emotional experience I had. Although I’m not sure if it was the energy or because I was sensitive to doing this the first time, I had tears streaming down my face and it took me the rest of the afternoon to balance my emotions. Starting that evening, smoke was smelled in our home, but we aren’t smokers. It turns out that the deceased was a smoker, but the overall experience was very positive. What I have learned is that the human body is just a house for the soul, but the soul lives on. After my experience with this situation and others, I fully believe the soul never dies.

While I thoroughly respect everyone’s individual spiritual beliefs, I do want to share that based on the claims of Reiki, when you heal yourself through Reiki attunement, you heal 6 generations behind you and 6 ahead of you. Everything I do is done connecting to the divine energy of love and light.
