New Art-One Lost One in The Works
While working on this lighthouse painting, my recent tiger painting was lost in shipment. My heart sunk.
Finally the Tiger Painting was Found
After 10 days, I was notified that Mango had arrived safely. Although it was insured, I would have only been reimbursed for the original painting and not paid to recreate it. This is definitely on my list to discuss with the shippers for the future. However, I’ve read they will not pay more than the value of the piece.
This tiger painting has sold, but I will have a variation quality prints and printed items available on my printing sites. You can find them here:
Lighthouse Colors
This lighthouse, photographed by Michael Gibbons, is black and white, However, I did not use any black in the painting.
Black us rarely true deep flat black. It absorbs all of the colors in the light spectrum and shiny surfaces reflect surrounding colors.
Therefore, I mixed a strong blue and red to gain this color.
The same goes with the white. White reflects colors of the spectrum particularly the surrounding colors.
For the white, I mixed complimentary orange hues with some yellow for highlights and some red violet for the shadows.
Finishing and Naming the Lighthouse
It’s not named yet, so I would love suggestions.
Today I plan to finish this beauty. Obviously the top enclosure needs finished and I plan to add highlights to the grass. Lastly, I think, I see a little portion of the figure that needs adjusted.
After that, I’ll wire it for hanging and paint the sides.
