Last weekend I finished my exhibition showpiece painting. It is a 4 by 5 foot painting which represents the climax in my upcoming book.
Both the book and exhibition paintings will be released along with my upcoming exhibition on May 9th, 2020.
This is a powerful piece. While I had a composition planned ahead of time, I literally felt guided through the process, especially as several other images appeared. I cannot wait to show you.
Along with creating a painting, comes clean up. While cleaning brushes is one of my least favorite things to do, it is necessary to maintain their longevity.
I had to remove the bottom piece of the easel to hold this extra large canvas. Upon doing this, I’m grateful that we invested in a nice easel. It is a heavy duty Best Easel by Jack Richeson. Obviously it expands to hold a 60 inch tall canvas, and can also lay flat.
Next, I had to check my inventory before proceeding to the second half of these exhibition paintings.
Now That I have my studio cleaned and updated my inventory, I’m off to the 7th painting of this series for the exhibition.
Currently I’m working on my book cover. And preparing for the editing step. Things are cranking up since we’re nearing the end.
