Color Motivation

There’s no doubt that color can elicit an emotional response such as the colorful motivation in this Abraham quote. Yellow has traditionally been known to invoke happy feelings.

For example, a beautiful sunset, deep blue ocean waters and the deep green forests. We gravitate towards them because they’re tranquil, beautiful and pleasing to the eye.

Pictured above are three different photos of some of the most admired nature scenes. One I took of the sunset; one I took of the woods nearby my house, and the other is a close up of a my Lazy Days seascape painting.

Did you know you can recreate a similar soothing atmosphere by using some of these color schemes and art in your home or office ?

From my recent artists talk, connecting with nature at Simmer Time Art gallery, I learned that psychologists have discovered merely viewing soothing paintings induces a calming effect.

Just take a look at some of that analogous colors, below, from my 9th exhibition painting currently in process. They have a soothing and serene feel to them. Also, adding them to the dark background gives them a mysterious feel.

Color has always fascinated me. As you may notice, I use a lot of color and my paintings to convey feelings and emotion.

Lately, decorating Trends lean towards a lot of Gray. While the colors appear soft and soothing that can also be dull to our senses and depressing. Thank goodness I read today that warmer colors are already making a comeback.

If you would like to brighten up the color in your home or office, take a look at some of my paintings while <uyour here to see which ones will suit your needs. Want something created special for you? Not a problem after my May exhibition and book release. Feel free to reach out to me anytime with questions you may have.

Also, why were discussing color I thought I’d throw in this interesting psychology color chart.

Studies have shown that these colors have a profound psychological effect.

I’ll leave you with this silly little paper towel flower I made after wiping my painting knives during my current exhibition painting that’s in the works.
