First Week Coronavirus Quarantine

First Week Coronavirus Quarantine-My Experience

What a reality check this past couple of weeks have been. I think we all needed to step back, take a deep breath and relax.  Let’s face it our society is a constant hectic pace this day and age.

After postponing the My Wildlife exhibition I have been working on for over a year, I mostly took this past week to process my thoughts and wrap my head around this whole Coronavirus pandemic. Like many of you, I’ve wondered what I can do to help, how long this will last, what about our service workers and the trickle effect that this will have on our economy.

Admittedly it felt good to slow down and spend some much needed time with my family. We actually played cards for the first time as a family.

My Wild Life Book and Exhibition Status

Since there are a lot of current unknowns, it’s likely I may publish the My Wild Life book on schedule, but I’m still pondering the idea.

Now that I’m easing back to the 10th painting I was creating for the My Wild Life Book and Exhibition when this pandemic hit, it dawned on me that this is the one I’m creating to represents surviving during the most difficult challenges.  Once I pulled myself away from being absorbed into the painting and focused on the initial symbolic intent, I was blown away. Below you can see a couple of close up cropped images of the painting that is currently evolving.

As I slowed down, I also took a break from the hectic pace I was working to meet my exhibition deadlines. If you are stuck and bored at home, I’ve created a new Facebook page titled Quarantine Creatives. The page is about sharing and finding creative ideas to occupy your time while quarantined.

I’m thankful I have my art because I never get bored. Wishing you safe and healthy travels through this journey.
