A Mother’s Love
This painting titled A Mother’s Love Elephant Painting depicts a cute and tiny elephant calf staying close by his Mother’s side. The two appeared to have just come from a watering hole as their trunks and feet were still wet. I want to take a quick moment to thank the photographer Marna Buys for the outstanding reference photo.[contact-form-7 404 "Not Found"]
About This painting
This elephant painting is a medium sized painting boasting a textured elephant due to the use of a painting knife. The elephants contrast against a lighter softer background that was painting with a combination of a knife and brush smoothed to the surface.
Why I chose to paint A Mother’s Love Elephant Painting
Lately I’ve painted some animal-wildlife paintings depicting animals and their young such as Giraffe Calf Willow and the Mother Dolphin and Baby painting. They capture the same bonding as A Mother’s Love Elephant Painting. There is something so tender and sweet about how close these young stay to their Mother’s as well as how the Mother’s stay close and protect their young. It resembles the same bond that human beings share with their young.
In a time where senseless killing of animals takes place, I feel it’s more important now than ever to capture their beauty and hope to raise awareness.
*I want to thank the wonderful photographer Marna Buys for this amazing photo.
